Ingredients
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
1/4 cup water (adjust for desired consistency)
Directions
Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, soy sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
Heat and Stir: Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir the mixture well until all ingredients are combined.
Simmer: Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld together.
Adjust Consistency: If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of water to reach your desired consistency.
Cool and Serve: Allow the sauce to cool before using it as a marinade, basting sauce, or dipping sauce for your cooked bass.
