Ingredients
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1-2 lemons)
1/4 cup white wine (optional)
1/4 cup chicken or fish broth
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon capers (optional)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Sauté Garlic: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
Add Liquids: Pour in the fresh lemon juice, white wine (if using), and broth. Stir well to combine.
Simmer: Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and the sauce to reduce slightly.
Add Heavy Cream: Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in the heavy cream. Continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
Add Capers and Zest: Stir in the capers (if using) and lemon zest. Continue to simmer for another 2 minutes.
Season: Add salt and pepper to taste.
Finish with Parsley: Remove the sauce from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley.
