Servings
A yogurt marinade is a fantastic way to tenderize and flavor both chicken and fish. The acidity in the yogurt helps break down the proteins, resulting in tender and juicy meat.
This yogurt marinade adds a delightful combination of tangy, creamy, and aromatic flavors to your chicken or fish. Serve with your favorite sides for a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp fresh herbs (such as dill, parsley, or cilantro), finely chopped
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tspturmeric (optional, for color and flavor)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Combine Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, fresh herbs, ground cumin, paprika, and turmeric (if using) until well combined.
Season: Add salt and pepper to taste, and give it another good mix.
Marinate the Chicken or Fish: Place your chicken pieces or fish fillets in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the yogurt marinade over, ensuring everything is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably longer, to allow the flavors to penetrate.
Cooking Instructions:
For Chicken: Grill, bake, or pan-fry the marinated chicken until fully cooked and golden brown. Depending on the size and cut of the chicken, this typically takes about 20-30 minutes at 375°F (190°C).
For Fish: Grill, bake, or pan-fry the marinated fish until fully cooked and flaky. Cooking time varies depending on the thickness of the fillets, but generally takes about 10-15 minutes at 375°F (190°C).
