Cook time: 10-15 min

Servings:

Cardamom, a spice often used in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisines, brings a citrusy and minty warmth to these cookies.

Ingredients

100 grams sugar

1 packet vanilla sugar

1 tbsp rum

1 tsp cardamom

1 pinch cinnamon

250 grams flour

1 tsp leveled baking powder

1 pinch salt

100 grams dark chocolate

Directions

Prep: Preheat your oven to 175°C (around 350°F) top and bottom heat.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a bowl, combine 100 grams of sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, and 1 tbsp of rum.

Add Spices: Mix in 1 tsp of cardamom and a pinch of cinnamon.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together 250 grams of flour, 1 tsp leveled baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

Blend: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.

Chill the Dough: Divide the dough in half, shape each half into a roll about 3 cm in diameter, and wrap them in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.

Chocolate Preparation: The next day, melt 100 grams of dark chocolate in a water bath. Allow it to cool, then gently reheat.

Shape and Bake: Cut the dough into slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Cool and Drizzle: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Once completely cooled, drizzle with the melted chocolate.
