Ingredients

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup rice vinegar

2 tablespoons sesame oil

2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce (optional)

1-2 teaspoons Sriracha or other chili sauce (adjust to your heat preference)

1/4 cup green onions, chopped

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Combine Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey (or brown sugar), minced garlic, grated ginger, hoisin sauce, and oyster sauce (if using) until well combined.

Add Green Onions and Sesame Seeds: Stir in the chopped green onions and sesame seeds (if using).

Season: Add salt and pepper to taste, and give it another good mix.

Marinate the Steak: Place your steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.

Grill or Cook: When ready to cook, remove the steak from the marinade and let it come to room temperature. Grill or cook the steak to your preferred doneness, basting occasionally with the remaining marinade.
