Hawaiian Pineapple Burgers

Let's dive into the tropical flavors of Hawaiian Pineapple Burgers! These burgers are a perfect blend of savory and sweet, with a juicy beef patty topped with grilled pineapple and a hint of teriyaki sauce. 

Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tbsp oregano

1 tsp sweet paprika

4 pineapple slices (fresh or canned, drained)

1 tbsp dark balsamico

4 hamburger buns

4 slices of cheddar cheese

1/4 cup teriyaki sauce

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tbsp soy sauce

Lettuce leaves

Tomato slices

Red onion slices


Directions

Prepare the Beef Patties:

In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper and the rest of seasonings. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.

Grill the Pineapple:

Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the pineapple with dark balsamico, Grill the pineapple slices for about 2-3 minutes per side, until they are slightly charred and caramelized. Set aside.

Cook the Patties:

Place the beef patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, brush each patty with a bit of teriyaki sauce and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top to melt.

Assemble the Burgers:

Toast the hamburger buns on the grill until they are golden brown.

In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and soy sauce.

Spread the mayo-soy sauce mixture on the bottom half of each bun.

Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by a beef patty with melted cheese, a grilled pineapple slice, tomato slices, and red onion slices.

Drizzle with more teriyaki sauce if desired and top with the other half of the bun.
