Cheesy Meatloaf in Pastry, often referred to as Meatloaf Wellington, is a delightful twist on the classic meatloaf. This dish combines the hearty flavors of a traditional meatloaf with the rich, buttery layers of pastry dough. 

Ingredients 

450 grams ground beef

25 grams onions

50 grams bell peppers strips

50 grams feta cheese

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp nutmeg

100 grams prosciutto

12 servings pepperidge farm puff pastry sheets

Directions

Mix the first 6 ingredients and knead well. Due to the eggs, there is already enough liquid so that the dough becomes a relatively homogeneous mass. Mix in diced peppers and diced cheese.

Shape the whole thing into an oval loaf and wrap it in the curled puff pastry. If necessary, cut out small motifs from some retained dough. Brush the dough with egg, decorate with the motifs and bake at 200°C for about 45 - 60 minutes.
