Ingredients

1 cup ketchup

3 tbsp brown sugar

2/3 cup minced onions

5 cloves fresh garlic, minced

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/4 cup white wine

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp mustard

1/4 tsp cloves

1/4 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Sauté Onions and Garlic: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, sauté the minced onions and garlic in a bit of oil until they become soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

Combine Ingredients: Add the ketchup, brown sugar, water, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, white wine, soy sauce, mustard, cloves, and cinnamon to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

Simmer: Bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld together.

Adjust Seasoning: Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or sugar to your preference.

Cool and Store: Allow the sauce to cool before transferring it to a jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
