Hungarian Short Ribs

Short ribs are a cut of beef taken from the brisket, chuck, plate, or rib areas of beef cattle. They consist of a short portion of the rib bone and the surrounding meat, which varies in thickness. 

Ingredients 

1800 grams beef short ribs

2 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tbsp garlic powder

1/2 tbsp onion powder

1/2 tbsp sweet paprika

1/2 tbsp curry powder

1 tbsp ginger, lemon, sriracha spice blend

1/2 tbsp garlic & onion spice blend

2-1/4 tsp hickory smoked sea salt

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1 cup hickory BBQ sauce

1/2 cup spicy ketchup, unsweetened

140 grams pecan wood bacon

150 grams onion

280 grams red bell pepper strips

1 tbsp minced garlic

1/2 cup diced tomatoes & green chilies

Directions

In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat. Brown ribs on all sides. Add onions; cook until tender. 

Combine all remaining ingredients; pour over ribs. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 2 to 2-1/2 hours or until the meat is tender. Thicken gravy if desired.
